Happiness is meeting an old friend after a long time and feeling that nothing has changed. I visited Seattle in June, 2018 for presenting my research paper in an International Conference conducted by Elsevier publication house and US Department of Energy. My childhood friend Sriya (Titli) came from Hillsboro to pick me up from Seattle Airport to her home in Hillsboro. After 12 long years we met.To be with old friend is very warming and comforting. We explored Portland and Hillsboro.

Portland, Oregon, The City of Roses is one of America's most unique cities. It is the largest city in Oregon state and second largest in the Pacific Northwest after Seattle. Portland is 124 Km from the pacific coast. Willamette river confluence with Columbia river in Portland. Vancouver, Washington is Portland suburb and lies immediately on the other side of the Columbia river. Mount Hood forms the perfect backdrop for Portland's skyline. The city is noted for its scenic beauty, great outdoors, environment and a large number of microbreweries. Train journey from Portland to Seattle by AMTRAK Cascade is the best way to travel Seattle while enjoying the scenery, with snacks and a glass of wine.
Places to visit: The Rose garden, Forest Park, Oregon Pacific Coast, Columbia River gorge, Multnomah Falls, Vista House.
Tucked into the lush and beautiful Willamette valley, Hillsboro is just 20 minutes drive from Portland. Hillsboro was founded in 1842. The city is nestled in the Tualatin valley halfway between the Cascade mountains and the Pacific ocean. The area produces thousand of gallons of berry and fruit wines anually. The city hosts many high technology companies like Intel, Wells Fargo, Yahoo. Hillsboro Oregon is the place where Beer, Birds, Baseball, Farms and technology meet.
