Happiness is meeting an old friend after a long time and feeling that nothing has changed. I visited Seattle in June, 2018 for presenting my research paper in an International Conference conducted by Elsevier publication house and US Department of Energy. My childhood friend Sriya (Titli) came from Hillsboro to pick me up from Seattle Airport to her home in Hillsboro. After 12 long years we met. To be with old friend is very warming and comforting. We explored Portland and Hillsboro. Seattle is a city with beautiful harbor and bay, full of islands, and  surrounded with snow capped mountains.  Seattle  is a seaport city on the west coast of the United States of America. The city is situated on the isthmus between  P udget sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington, about 100 miles (160 km) south of the Canada–United States border. Famous for its addiction to caffeine (over 100 Starbucks coffee shops here and Starbucks was founded in this city), and this city is the birthplace to bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Seattle has a very friendly and relaxed vibe, great bars, robust music scene, world class sea foods and lots of nature surrounding. Seattle is incredible during the few months of warm weather. Seattle is also known as gateway to Alaska.  The Seattle area developed into a technology center from the 1980s onwards with companies like  Microsoft   established in the region; Microsoft founder  Bill Gates  is a Seattleite by birth. Udagamandalam (OOTY)

Udagamandalam, better known as OOTY , is a hill station in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu and serves as a popular tourist and honeymooning destination for Indians. Me and my husband Ranabir also visited Ooty as our honeymoon trip. Tucked away in the Nilgiris, this hill station is connected by the century-old Nilgiri Mountain Railway, which is among the oldest running trains in India and gives some stunning views of the valley as you head over from Coonoor to Ooty in this mini-locomotive. N estled in the ‘Blue Mountains’ of the Nilgiris, Ootacumund or Ooty stands at over 2,200 metres and has all the staples of a charming hill station. With cool temperatures all through the year, its inviting setting amidst verdant green hills has rightfully earned Ooty the moniker, ‘Queen of the Hills’. Quaint bungalows and heritage buildings reflect Ooty’s colonial past and make it an ever-growing and popular holiday destination in southern India. Places to visit in OOTY: Doddabetta pe
